DEWA ATHENA OPENING CEREMONY

                                              Dewa Athena Opening Ceremony

What a great day it was...
It began in saturday morning,I went out to the school at 05.30 and arrived at Bali field at 07.00 am.
I jumped right straight to the field and checking on my camera, set some settings and get ready to shoot a time lapse because i'm one of Movie Production 3 extraculiculer member which Ms. Wiwin supervised.

What is a time lapse?
Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby the frequency at which film frames are captured (the frame rate) is much lower than that used to view the sequence. When played at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. For example, an image of a scene may be captured once every second, then played back at 30 frames per second; the result is an apparent 30 × (24 [cinema] / 25 [PAL] / 30 [NTSC] frames per second) times speed increase. Time-lapse photography can be considered the opposite of high speed photography or slow motion.
Processes that would normally appear subtle to the human eye, e.g. the motion of the sun and stars in the sky, become very pronounced. Time-lapse is the extreme version of the cinematography technique of undercranking, and can be confused withstop motion animation.

SO,hours and hours i shot a time lapse photography, with aid of Nisa Febriani,Ilham Muzakki, and other fellow mp3 members,at last it is finished after being shot for almost 4 hours and being edited for almost 5 hours and this is how it looks : http://vimeo.com/86813332
please gladly check the link:) thank you for your attention, see youuu

Amazing Places

Hallgrímskirkja

Hallgrímskirkja (church of Hallgrímur) is a Lutheran (Church of Iceland) parish church in Reykjavík, Iceland. At 73 metres (244 ft),
it is the largest church in Iceland and the sixth tallest architectural structure in Iceland after Longwave radio mast Hellissandur,
the radio masts of US Navy atGrindavík, Eiðar longwave transmitter and Smáratorg tower.
The church is named after the Icelandic poet and clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson (1614 to 1674), author of the Passion Hymns.
State Architect Guðjón Samúelsson's design of the church was commissioned in 1937.
He is said to have designed it to resemble the basalt lava flows of Iceland's landscape.
It took 38 years to build the church.
Construction work began in 1945 and ended in 1986, the landmark tower being completed long before the church's actual completion.
The crypt beneath the choir was consecrated in 1948, the steeple and wings were completed in 1974, and the nave was consecrated in 1986.
Situated in the centre of Reykjavík, it is one of the city's best-known landmarks and is visible throughout the city.
It is similar in style to the expressionist architecture ofGrundtvig's Church of Copenhagen, Denmark, completed in 1940.
The church houses a large pipe organ by the German organ builder Johannes Klais of Bonn.
It has mechanical action, four manuals and pedal, 102 ranks, 72 stops and 5275 pipes.
It is 15 metres tall and weighs 25 tons. Its construction was finished in December 1992.
It has been recorded by Christopher Herrick in his Organ Fireworks VII CD.
The church is also used as an observation tower. An observer can take a lift up to the viewing deck and view Reykjavík and the surrounding mountains.
The statue of explorer Leif Eriksson (c. 970 – c. 1020) by Alexander Stirling Calder in front of the church predates its construction.
It was a gift from the United States in honor of the 1930 Alþingi Millennial Festival, commemorating the 1000th anniversary of Iceland's parliament at Þingvellir in 930 AD.[3]
In 2008, the church underwent a major restoration of the main tower, and was covered in scaffolding.
In late 2009, restoration was completed and the scaffolding was removed.

Natural Phenomenon : AURORA

Pictures of the aurora australis

An aurora (from the Latin word aurora, "sunrise" or the Roman goddess of dawn) is a natural light display in the sky particularly in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions, caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere (thermosphere). The charged particles originate in themagnetosphere and solar wind and, on Earth, are directed by the Earth's magnetic field into the atmosphere. Most aurorae occur in a band known as the auroral zone, which is typically 3° to 6° in latitudinal extent and at all local times or longitudes. The auroral zone is typically 10° to 20° from the magnetic pole defined by the axis of the Earth's magnetic dipole. During a geomagnetic storm, the auroral zone expands to lower latitudes.
Aurorae are classified as diffuse and discrete. The diffuse aurora is a featureless glow in the sky that may not be visible to the naked eye, even on a dark night. It defines the extent of the auroral zone. The discrete aurorae are sharply defined features within the diffuse aurora that vary in brightness from just barely visible to the naked eye, to bright enough to read a newspaper by at night. Discrete aurorae are usually seen in only the night sky, because they are not as bright as the sunlit sky. Aurorae occasionally occur poleward of the auroral zone as diffuse patches or arcs, which are generally subvisual.
In northern latitudes, the effect is known as the aurora borealis (or the northern lights), named after the Romangoddess of dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for the north wind, Boreas, by Pierre Gassendi in 1621. Auroras seen near the magnetic pole may be high overhead, but from farther away, they illuminate the northern horizon as a greenish glow or sometimes a faint red, as if the Sun were rising from an unusual direction. Discrete aurorae often displaymagnetic field lines or curtain-like structures, and can change within seconds or glow unchanging for hours, most often in fluorescent green. The aurora borealis most often occurs near the equinoxes. The northern lights have had a number of names throughout history. The Cree call this phenomenon the "Dance of the Spirits". In Medieval Europe, the auroras were commonly believed to be a sign from God.
Its southern counterpart, the aurora australis (or the southern lights), has features that are almost identical to the aurora borealis and changes simultaneously with changes in the northern auroral zone. It is visible from high southern latitudes in Antarctica, South America, New Zealand, and Australia. Aurorae occur on other planets. Similar to the Earth's aurora, they are visible close to the planet's magnetic poles. Modern style guides recommend that the names of meteorological phenomena, such as aurora borealis, be uncapitalized.

MY HOLIDAY

OK,to be honest my holiday for the most part only consists of me being in my house doing things that people regularly do like eat, sleep, videogames, browse the internet, and many "normal" things that, if i wrote all of them in this post, this post will clearly full of them.....

 LET'S START!!!

MY HOLIDAY

Picture of "Ni no Kuni : Wraith of  The White Witch"
one of many games that i've played in my holiday.
THE FIRST WEEK :
SO, This first week i absolutely have done nothing interesting.......i guess i have to share my experience, right? SO this week i only played my ps3 and watched some movies!!! even though playing and watching movies isn't really interesting......

OK,i've played so many games, especially the game "Ni no Kuni". This game is very awesome! i like the visual,i like the gameplay,i like the story and overall I LOVE THIS GAME!!!
You all may be wondering......what is this game? what is the story of this game?
I will tell you the game's summary :

Ni no Kuni follows the journey of Oliver, a resident of Motorville. While trying out a new vehicle designed by his friend Philip, Oliver almost drowns, but is saved by his Mother, Allie; however, she immediately dies from heart problems after saving him. As Oliver cries, his tears cause his doll, a gift from his mother, to come to life and reveal itself as a fairy named Drippy, who tells Oliver that he is from another world where an evil wizard named Shadar took control. He also tells Oliver that each person from his world has a "soulmate", a person that shares a link with someone in Oliver's world, and that his mother looks very much like a great sage, Alicia, who was captured by Shadar. Realising that Alicia must have been Allie's soulmate, Oliver sets out with Drippy to travel to the other world and rescue Alicia in the hope that doing so will bring Allie back in his world.
In the other world, Oliver finds a multitude of broken-hearted people affected by Shadar, and uses his new-found magic abilities to restore those pieces of heart which they lack, and travels the world to seek out the four great sages who may be able to help. Along the way, he meets Esther, daughter of one of the great sages, and Swaine, a thief who initially steals a crucial item from them, but who ultimately decides to help. As they enlist the sages' help, they learn of a wand known as Mornstar that could be used to defeat Shadar, but are at a loss as to how to retrieve it, as it was recently destroyed by Shadar. Soon after, they find themselves many years in the past by the actions of a stranger, and are able to retrieve the wand there.
After returning to the present and retrieving three stones capable of completing the wand, Oliver learns that his mother Allie was in fact the great sage, Alicia. Realising she could not defeat Shadar, and that he had destroyed his soulmate in the other world to avoid the possibility of being defeated through them, she chose to travel into both the future and into Oliver's world in the hopes of finding his next soulmate; after settling in to this new world, she eventually gave birth to her son, Oliver, who unknowingly became Shadar's soulmate. After he is defeated, Shadar's past is shown. He was once a soldier who helped a young girl against orders, and whose hometown was destroyed to set an example; a being known as the White Witch called to him to embrace his despair and become the Dark Djinn, Shadar. The spirit of Alicia talks to the dying Shadar, who realises that the girl he saved. was the young Alicia herself. Shadar then uses his power to sever the link between himself and Oliver, in order to save Oliver from dying as well.
With Shadar defeated, Oliver prepares to return home, but the White Witch appears and casts a spell known as "manna", an ash-like substance that turns all living beings in the three major cities into undead-like creatures. A girl named Pea, who has been appearing to Oliver on occasion, travels with the group and uses her magic to clear the cities of manna and restore the people to normal; the group then travel to defeat the White Witch herself. They discover that she was a young queen called Cassiopeia from thousands of years ago who had noble intentions, but was manipulated by her "council of twelve", calling themselves the Zodiarchs, who desired to run the country. Feeling powerless, she found and used the manna spell, believing it would bring peace and prosperity to her people. When the horrific effects of manna were revealed, she gradually witnessed the death of all of her subjects, including the council, and found herself on her own; she was gradually driven to despair and became the White Witch, believing that all life must be destroyed in an attempt to "start over". Her power created an illusory version of the council to oversee the destruction of the world, but the remains of her kind intentions also created the council member that helped the group by sending them back in time, as well as Pea, the incarnation of her as a child. Having been defeated, Cassiopeia fuses together with Pea and is restored to her former, kind self. After assisting the group in destroying the last manifestations of the council, the Zodiarchy, Cassiopeia declares that she will dedicate herself to make amends for her actions and Oliver returns to his old life in Motorville.
Long story eh? hehehe yes and it's worth it,it's amazing to have an adventure lke oliver did... i wish maybe in the future i can go on to an adventure ! it'll be awesome!
Ok,now let's move on to the movies.Which movie i've watched in the first week? i will tell you one that made me feel a feeling that i never felt.So the movie title is " LOST IN TRANSLATION" starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johannson.

Bob Harris is an American film actor, far past his prime. He visits Tokyo to appear in commercials, and he meets Charlotte, the young wife of a visiting photographer. Bored and weary, Bob and Charlotte make ideal if improbable traveling companions. Charlotte is looking for "her place in life," and Bob is tolerating a mediocre stateside marriage. Both separately and together, they live the experience of the American in Tokyo. Bob and Charlotte suffer both confusion and hilarity due to the cultural and language differences between themselves and the Japanese. As the relationship between Bob and Charlotte deepens, they come to the realization that their visits to Japan, and one another, must soon end.

This movie captures the sense of loneliness that i had. It's so perfect. This movie is so sweet and so sad at the same time with a great ending that makes this movie really wonderful! I think we've all had those moment where we 'want to be found'. When you long to meet that someone who will finally understand you & want to know you. That someone does exist and you might just find them in the place you'd least expect to, but, it won't always end up like the final few sentences of a fairy tale no matter how hard you wish it could. But that's the beauty of life; it's unpredictable, unique and something that shouldn't be wasted. That was the essence that i found in the movie so i recommend this movie for all of you who read this!

THE SECOND WEEK will be published next week !

Indonesian Folklore

Prince Pande Gelang and Princess Cadasari
Pandeglang District - Banten - Indonesia

Pande Gelang is a handsome prince who possesses supernatural power. Once upon a time, all his power is stolen by a fellow apprentice, Prince Cunihin. With the magical strength, Prince Cunihin turns Prince Pande Gelang into an old man in order to win the heart of Prince Cadasari, his lover. Can Prince Pande Gelang take his power back from Prince Cunihin? Find out in the story Prince Pande Gelang and Princess Cadasari as follows.
***
The story goes that in Banten, there was a princess named Arum. She was so beautiful. Her skin and heart were as soft as silk. No wonder all princes dreamed of taking her as wife. Of the many princes, there are two who wanted her the most, namely Prince Sae Bagus Lana and Prince Cunihin. They trained under the same guru, but their characters were poles apart. Their traits were just like their name suggested, Sae Bagus Lana meant a kind man and Cunihinmeant a lady’s man. Prince Arum, finally, picked Prince Sae Bagus Lana to be her husband.
Apparently, Prince Cunihin could not accept the bitterness. He was jealous, bearing a grudge for Prince Sae Bagus Lana that he had intention of stealing his power so that he could take Princess Arum from him.
Prince Cunihin succeeded. Possessing great power, he transformed Prince Sae Bagus Lana into an old man with dark skin.
Prince Sae Bagus Lana felt helpless and then went to his guru to ask for advice. He was told to make a big metal ring. That ring should be able to defeat Prince Cunihin. Once he went through it, his powers would vanish and turn back to Prince Sae Bagus.
Prince Sae Bagus Lana went away to a kampong to make the ring secretly. Since then, he was called Pande Gelang, the Ring Maker. His neighbors, though, called him Ki Pande.
One day, when walking about Manggis Hill, Pande Gelang saw a beautiful girl sitting alone, looking sad. She seemed familiar to him. Indeed, she was Princess Arum. She was mourning over her upcoming marriage with Prince Cunihin, the cold and ruthless man. Despite knowing that she was his lover, Prince Sae Bagus Lana did not intend to reveal who he really was. He did not want to add to her sorrow.
Sampurasun!” greeted Pande Gelang.
Ra… Rampes,” answered the princess surprisedly.
“I am really sorry for surprising you, young lady,” said Pande Gelang saluting her.
The princess did not respond right away. She was struck dumb looking at the stranger. Although the dark-skinned old man had a dull face, the princess could feel he was harmless. So she finally answered his greeting.
“Who are you old man?” asked the princess.
“My name is Pande Gelang. People call me Ki Pande,” answered the man. “Why, young lady, if you don’t mind, are you looking so depressed?”
The princess was again quieted, then shedding tears. She wanted to tell him her sadness, but it was really hard. She thought it would be useless to tell other people about it as nobody could help her anyway.
“Oh, I beg you pardon for my improper question,” said Ki Pande.
He just took some steps away when the princess stopped him.
“Wait! Don’t leave, Ki!” shouted Princess Arum. “I will tell you why. I have never told anyone about this before. It makes no difference anyway,” explained the princess.
“Why so?” asked Pande Gelang.
“It is a really heavy problem I’m facing, Ki,” the princess sighed.
Princess Arum went on telling that she was under threat of Prince Cunihin.
“I’m so sad, Ki. Prince Cunihin forces me to marry him. He is agreeable indeed, but he is cruel and coldblooded. I can do nothing about him. He has enormous authority and supernatural power,” said Princess Arum.
For a while, Pande Gelang was speechless. He was furious to hear how Prince Cunihin had treated the lady. He could not wait to beat the evil prince. However, he concealed his anger and tried to comfort the lady.
“My condolences, young lady,” said Pande Gelang in a shaky low voice.
“Thank you, Ki. Stupid me, I was hoping that the inspiration was true,” said Princess Arum.
“What do you mean by inspiration?” Pande Gelang was curious.
“I received an inspiration through a dream that I had to spend some time on this hill to calm down myself. Someday a kind-hearted prince would come to help me. But now I began losing hopes. I’ve been waiting here for long but the prince never came. Oh, God! Prince Cunihin will come to marry me in three days,” moaned Princess Arum.
Pande Gelang did not say a word. He realized that the prince was nobody but himself.
“Forgive me for saying this. I think you should accept Prince Cunihin’s proposal,” said Pande Gelang.
The princess was surprised by such an inconsiderate counsel. How could she allow herself to marry Prince Cunihin, a man whom she really hated? But then, the old man explained what he thought, that the princess should accept his proposal on a condition. He told her to require Prince Cunihin to make a big hole on a huge sacred coral lied not far from the coast. He then had to move the coral to the beach, close enough to the water too. The prince should be given three days to do all that. The princess now understood.
“So what next, Ki?” asked Princess Arum again.
“Don’t worry. If you don’t mind, princess, you can leave the rest to me,” said Pande Gelang.
The princess was even more confident now. Pande Gelang took her to his place to work out a plan. But his place was very far that Princess Arum passed out on their way. She fell on a sandstone right on the fringe of Pande Gelang’s kampong. People who happened to be around hurried to help Pande Gelang carry her to a nearby house. They treated her well. According to the village chief, the princess would recover right away after drinking the water pouring out from the sandstone.
It was true. Princess Arum suddenly regained health after taking some gulps of the water. Since then, the kampong people called her Princess Cadasari, the Princess of the Sandstone Spring.
Next morning, Princess Cadasari went back to her palace accompanied by some people from the kampong. Pande Gelang, meanwhile, was busy making the ring he would put on the sacred coral.
Prince Cunihin came with the marriage proposal on the given day. As planned, Princess Arum said she would accept it on a condition.
“I will marry you, but I have a condition. There is a sacred coral not far from the coast. I want you to move it closer to the water and make a big hole on it,” explained Princess Arum.
“What are you kidding? That is so easy, princess. What do you want from that?” said Prince Cunihin.
“I want to have a honeymoon upon it. We can sit upon it while savoring the beautiful moment and scenery of the ocean. Wouldn’t it be nice, prince?” Princess Cadasari made it clear.
“Oh, that sounds perfect. A good idea of yours, princess,” praised Prince Cunihin.
Having no suspicion, Prince Cunihin did what the princess asked. In three days, he took the coral to the beach. He made a hole on it with his power, then rushed back to the palace to pick the princess up.
By that time, Pande Gelang, who had been hiding behind the bushes all along and wathching everything the prince do, did not waste the chance. He put the ring on the huge hole on the coral’s side. Too bad, though, Prince Cunihin caught him walking away from the shore. The evil prince was now with Princess Cadasari.
“Hey, old man! What are you doing here?” thundered Prince Cunihin.
“Me? Just trying to take back my power and lover from you,” said Pande Gelang.
“Oh, it’s you again, my friend! Didn’t I tell you before that you don’t deserve all these? Look, the princess is mine. Hahahahaha!” Prince Cunihin mocked him.
Princess Cadasari was at a loss listening to the conversation. They sounded like they had known each other before. Just when she wanted to ask about it, Prince Cunihin grabbed her wrist and led her to see the coral.
“See, princess! I have done what you wanted me to do. A beautiful place it is for our a couple like us,” said Prince Cunihin.
Calmly, Princess Cadasari tried to look happy. She knew she still had to make the prince sit on the hole.
“I’m sorry, prince. Maybe I’m too happy to be able to see the hole you made from here. Would you go down there and show me there is really a hole? I’ll be waiting here,” asked Princess Cadasari.
Prince Cunihin went to the coral and did not think twice to walk through the hole. Then, just a few steps through, suddenly he felt unbearable pains all over his body. He yelled out, rolling on the ground. After that, all his power vanished. He became sapless, even to stand up. A moment after, he turned into an old man. It was as if he had just gone through a long tunnel of time.
At the same time, Pande Gelang could feel that an enormous energy went into his body. He possessed the power he had used to own. His look changed too. Slowly, he turned younger and younger, and finally back into a handsome man.
Princess Cadasari could not believe what she saw. She finally found out that the old man who helped her was her lover, Prince Sae Bagus Lana.
“Oh, dear! How could this all happen to you?” wondered Princess Cadasari.
Prince Pande Gelang, the name by what he was called now, then told her everything, from when Prince Cunihin stole his power to the magical occurrence that just happened. Prince Cadasari realized that the inspiration she received was proven true.
The couple walked away together. Soon, they got married and lived in happiness.
***
That is how the story of Prince Pande Gelang and Princess Cadasari from Pandeglang, Banten, Indonesia, goes. Until today, where Prince Cunihin takes the sacred coral (batu keramat) is now known as “Kramatwatu”, while the coast where he put it is called “Karang Bolong” (“Holed Coral”). Meanwhile, where the princess waits in Manggis Hill became known as Kampong Pasir Manggu. The word manggu is derived from Sundanese language, which meansmanggis (mangosteen), and pasir means hill. Later on, where Princess Cadasari passes out is called Cadasari area, situated in Pandeglang, the place where Prince Pande Gelang stays to make the ring.
The moral the story conveys is that jealousy and spitefulness can make one do bad things, just like what happens to Prince Cunihin. He is blinded to the point where he will do anything to get what he wants, even though it means he has to harm a close friend. In the end, though, Prince Cunihin finally loses his powers and transforms into a weak old man.
